John Wick: Chapter 4 stars and master martial artists Scott Adkins and Marko Zaror will reportedly join Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista in the upcoming action outing, The Killer’s Game. Coming courtesy of the site M.A.A.C. (Martial Arts Action Cinema), both Adkins and Zaror will reunite on the project following their recent appearance alongside Keanu Reeves in the action movie hit John Wick: Chapter 4.
According to the report, the rest of the all-star cast behind The Killer’s Game includes Sofia Boutella (Rebel Moon), Ben Kingsley (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Pom Klementieff (Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One), Ice Cube (The High Note), Scott Adkins (John Wick: Chapter 4), WWE’s Drew McIntyre, Shaina West (The Woman King), Lucy Cork (Black Widow), Daniel Bernhardt (Extraction 2), Lee Hoon (The Love is Coming) and Marko Zaror (Fist of the Condor) alongside Bautista, who will lead the project as a world-weary assassin.
Directed by J.J. Perry, who recently made his directorial debut with the vampire action flick Day Shift starring Jamie Foxx, Dave Franco, and Scott Adkins, The Killer’s Game is based on Jay Bonansinga’s novel of the same name and follows Dave Bautista as a veteran assassin named Joe Flood. After being diagnosed with a terminal illness, Joe orders a hit out on himself in order to avoid the pain that he is now destined to endure. After ordering the hit, Joe finds out that he has been misdiagnosed and must now fend off the army of fellow assassins trying to kill him. No doubt both Adkins and Zaror will be some of the assassins on his tail.
Written by Rand Ravich (Second Chance) and Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past), The Killer’s Game does not yet have a release date but will be distributed by Lionsgate after the studio picked up the project at Cannes.
Scott Adkins Has Several Action Outings on the Horizon
Formerly the best kept secret in action movies (a secret that is now out following his scene-stealing role in John Wick: Chapter 4), Scott Adkins has several action outings on the horizon alongside hunting down Dave Bautista in The Killer’s Game.
Adkins will team-up with Zaror again in Diablo, which finds Adkins starring as a man who, after being released from prison, “embarks on a perilous mission to fulfill an old promise but finds himself in danger when he kidnaps Elisa, the daughter of a powerful gangster.” This leads to her father putting out “a call to the entire criminal underworld to bring her back alive,” which brings Marko Zaror into the fray as El Corvo, a psychopathic killer, who “joins the hunt not for the money but for his own vendetta against Vincent’s family.”
The Diablo description continues; “Kris must evade both Elisa’s powerful father and a ruthless killer bent on revenge to live long enough to tell Elisa the full story that has been hidden from her.”
If that were not already enough to have you excited, Adkins will also return to the long takes of One Shot in an upcoming sequel, One More Shot.
