The actor was involved in a crash involving a motorcyclist in California. Minor injuries reported.
Just before 11:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, Aquaman and Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa was driving along Old Topanga Road in Calabasas, California in his 1970 Oldsmobile when 21-year-old motorcyclist Vitaliy Avagimyan crossed the center line and smashed head-on into his muscle car. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the motorcyclist came in contact with Momoa as he drove around a curve, crossed over into the actor’s lane during this bend, hit the left front end of the Oldsmobile. The collision sent Avagimyan flying into the air, at which point where he reportedly ricocheted off Momoa’s windshield before clearing the hood of his car to end up on the other side.
Reportedly, Momoa got out of his car to help the motorcyclist and flagged down a passing driver to call 9-1-1. California Highway Patrol said Momoa was not injured. The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital and treated for minor, non-life-threatening injuries, which have since been reported to be bruising to his leg and an injury to his thumb. It’s unclear why the motorcyclist crossed the center line, and no charges have been filed.
Jason Momoa Has a Full Slate of Projects Waiting in the Wings
While the 42-year-old, who once struggled to pay bills after the hit HBO series Game of Thrones killed off his character, can certainly afford any latest luxury vehicle that he wants, he clearly has a fondness for the classics, as seen below:
Aside from the anticipated Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, set to be released in March 2023, Jason Momoa will be seen in other upcoming projects. He plays Flip, an eccentric outlaw in the fantasy comedy-adventure movie Slumberland which is scheduled for a 2022 release.
Momoa will star in Fast X (also known as Fast and Furious 10) alongside members of the franchise as well as newcomers like Alan Ritchson (Reacher). While there has been no description given for Momoa’s role other than he plays a villain, there are tidbits for others. Scott Eastwood is tagged as Little Nobody, a law enforcement officer, Jason Statham will play Decker Shaw, a former turned new team member, Charlize Theron plays Cipher, a criminal mastermind and the great Helen Mirren portrays Queenie, the mother of Dom’s former enemies. Fast X is also set to premiere in 2023.
