The mullet has a special place in the lives of those who grew up when the “front, party in the back” haircut was… well, accepted. Looks like one of those people was… hawk eye star Jeremy Renner, who recently shared a throwback image to his Instagram story of his high school prom, in which he has a real all-time mullet that would stand next to the best of them.
Clint Barton always seemed to be at the bottom of the pile when it came to Avengers member popularity, but the hawk eye series did exactly what it was intended to do and gave Marvel fans a new appreciation for Renner’s shooter. While we wait to see when hawk eye makes his next appearance in the MCU, it seems that the actor likes to fill his time sharing these types of posts on his social media, and who are we to refuse.
Following the events of Avengers: Infinity WarBarton didn’t take the loss of his family well in Thanos’ snap, becoming a violent vigilante until Natasha Romanoff found him and brought him back into the Avengers fold. Of course we all know how that worked out for Natasha, but Barton lived to fight another day, and as the character has now started a new chapter, Renner recently discussed his hawk eye role at GQ. He said:
“It was a great, great, you know, blessing first of all. Five great friends that we all shared something similar and went through a lot of things together personally and cinematically. We shared so much together. That shared experience is what it’s for It’s all about me. It’s a beautiful thing. And within the world, you know, when it comes to the character and stuff, there are limitations of how you can really kind of push the character, understand the character better. Because everybody has a cog in the wheel to support the whole picture. It’s telling, you know, like in Age of Ultron, when Hawkeye had a family that nobody knew about. And this farm in the middle of nowhere, and that was telling.”
Hawkeye leaves Clint Barton available to return in the future, but when that will be is unknown
The hawk eye series on Disney+ found Clint Barton in a post-blip world where he worked with the talented young archer Kate Bishop while confronting the ghosts of his past life as Ronin, the vigilante he took in between Infinite War and Endgameand tries to get to his family’s home in time for Christmas. Over the course of the series, some familiar faces popped up in the form of Black Widow Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), and Daredevil’s Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio), as well as newcomer Echo, who will soon be appearing in her own series.
Marvel producer Trinh Tran previously teased that Hawkeye will be back, and there’s still plenty to be learned from the character. She said: “There are always new stories to tell, especially with Clint Barton. There’s so much more to discover. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but it’s been great working with Jeremy. He loves his character, “He’s the only person who really knows who Clint Barton is. I think there are possibilities. We’ll see.”
