The film also did well at the Academy Awards, as it was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Original Screenplay, for which Peele went on to win. U.S didn’t get the same love at the awards, but it was still a hit with critics and audiences, earning over $255 million at the box office.
In addition to directing, Peele has also had success as a producer under his Monkeypaw Productions banner. Projects that Peele has produced, in addition to his own films, include: BlackKkKlansman† lovecraft country† hunters† keanu, and the 2021 candy man follow-up.
Many have praised Peele for the way he combines horror with social commentary. They are unique in the genre because they tell a meaningful and relevant story without relying on cheap jump scares. It is unclear what new will pass, but it will be a movie that many people will say yes to.
