Netflix is cruelly dripping, dripping, dripping from little sips of the upcoming season of Strange things. Today they dropped a photo of Hopper with his trusty flamethrower ready to set some Upside Down buns on fire, or Russians? They’re killing me, Smalls. And that jacket almost took me down an Etsy rabbit hole. Don’t leave yet, there is plenty of choice. The team behind the show took to Twitter today and teased us with, “Can’t stop thinking about it.” The answers of “Me too!” were too many to count.
David Harbor posted the photo to his Instagram with a funny response from an impatient fan. I feel you!
“Ya boy Jim is going to bring the HEAT to 2022… (sorry, sorry). Check out the sneak peak on each cast member’s Instagram. Psychic to work with Xavier directing all episodes of season 5! (I can’t believe that i have to do this, but in the age of internet click bait nonsense… the reference to season 5 is a joke referring to a comment on the @netflix page about how long it takes to film the show i funny found.”
“Since Season 4 has already been (mostly) taped, the only way to joke about this person directing the show would be if the show had a 5th season. I personally have no knowledge of a fifth season, and I don’t know either. if Netflix has made any decisions about further seasons of the show. It’s a joke, based on a silly premise. Please stop writing articles about stupid shit we all say. I have nothing to’ reveal’. Absolutely nothing. Except Hopper looks amazing this season and I’m excited for you to see it. And I’m just a dummy, making stupid jokes about this stupid app because apparently I need attention. But we’ll save my psychic profile for another message.’
Other tidbits have been shared recently via Twitter, including new cast members Amybeth McNulty aka Vickie: a cool, fast-talking band nerd who gets the attention of one of our beloved heroes, Myles Truitt aka Patrick: a Hawkins basketball star with friends, talent, and a good life…until shocking events spiral out of control, Regina Ting Chen aka Ms. Kelly: A popular guidance counselor who cares deeply about her students – especially those who struggle the most, and Grace Van Dien aka Chrissy: Hawkins’ High lead cheerleader and the most popular girl in school, but beneath the seemingly perfect surface lurks a dark secret.
Series producer Shawn Levy gave us this hint. “I’m, along with the (Duffer) brothers, we’re kind of tag-teaming it and directing it as recently as we are now. So not quite done filming yet. (We’ll be done soon. All I can say is by the time this airs, at least we’ve given the world a margin, and that’s all I can say about it. free man out August 13, part of that answer will be out.” I guess I shouldn’t complain too much, as they just gave us another teaser sneak peek with a 2022 release date.
But, everyone? They left us hanging in the Season 3 finale with some key questions to answer. SPOILERS! LOOK AWAY! How will Hopper (David Harbour) and El reunite with Joyce (Winona Ryder), Will (Noah Schnapp), Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), and El (Millie Bobby Brown) leaving Hawkins in search of greener pastures? Will Joyce and Hop ever get that appointment with Enzo for great Italian? Will El’s wound heal and will her powers return? Are they bringing Alexei back? We all love Alexei and his Slurpees! And we’ve all seen that little Demogorgon in the Russian prison. The nightmare of the Upside Down is not over yet. And finally, thumbs up, will Dusty Buns have another Captain & Tennille moment with his previously elusive Camp Know Where girlfriend Suzie-poo? Turn around… Look what you see…
