Rumors that Charlie Cox will appear in the upcoming Marvel sequel Spider-Man: No Way Home continue to circulate, and this time it’s thanks to the San Antonio-based Celebrity Fan Fest revealing that the daredevil star has canceled an upcoming convention gig due to a “last minute movie schedule” change. Write this down as coincidence if you will, but this sudden cancellation comes amid reports of… No way home reshoots leading many to believe that Cox will indeed fit again as The Man Without Fear.
Adding even more weight to the idea is the fact that Cox currently has no other projects for which he could realistically film, such as the Irish drama, Familyalready packed. Of course, a more recent rumor has emerged claiming that Cox’s Daredevil will appear in Marvel’s Disney+ series instead, She-Hulk, leaving many wondering if this is why the actor had to cancel his performance at the convention. Either way, it’s starting to look more and more likely that Charlie Cox will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Now that enough time has passed and the rights to the Marvel Netflix properties have returned to Marvel Studios, rumors quickly began to spread that Charlie Cox will return as Matt Murdock, Daredevil or both in the upcoming Marvel series l Spider-Man: No Way Home, with reports even claiming he filmed on the project for a short time. In the past, the actor has previously stated that he won’t be holding his breath when it comes to re-fitting as The Man Without Fear, though he’d love the chance to do so. “Look, I had a great time,” he said. “I’m so grateful to have been able to play that character for so long. Of course I’d love to continue. I’d love to be involved.”
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, meanwhile, has had his say on the possible return of daredevil and the rest of the Marvel characters who last appeared on Netflix. “Everything is on the board,” Feige said when discussing a possible comeback for The Defenders. “One of the nice things about the comics is that characters appear and disappear and come and go. It’s all inspiration for the future. There are some great characters and actors from those shows.”
While we’re just forced to wait and see if our comic book movie dreams have indeed come true, Spider-Man: No Way Home will once again play Tom Holland in the titular role. Should the film continue where? Spider-Man: Far After From Home was discontinued, Peter Parker has now been exposed as the wall-crawling superhero, with rumors that Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock will be called in to defend the teen in court. Somewhere along the way, Parker will also collaborate with Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, throwing Spider-Man and his comrades into the madness of the multiverse.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is scheduled for release in the United States on December 17, 2021, as part of Phase Four of the MCU. This comes to us from Celebrity Fan Fest.
