While you would think that events are happening in Loki would be enough to distract Marvel fans from the evergreen question of whether we’ll see a second season of . to get WandaVision, as Kevin Feige discovered during a Q&A session at Paleyfest’s virtual panel today, it seems that until someone gives them a definitive answer, there’s no getting around it. Asked by a fan or the WandaVision story would continue in some capacity, which we all know means, “Is there going to be a second season?” Feige was happy to be completely vague, but at least gave it something to think about.
While he had no intention of revealing the plans of the MCU’s future surprises, he said, “Yes to a storyline evolution; likely and inevitable in many different capacities.” The head of Marvel Studios then followed this up by confirming that Wanda’s evolution will continue in Doctor Strange 2, but added something extra. “That’s the first place where that story continues, but there will be other places as well.”
It has been known for some time that Wanda as the newly developed Scarlet Witch will play a pivotal role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but rather, there was no word on where her story might go next, or even if it would continue. With Wanda’s powers now extending beyond those that made her such a formidable part of the Avengers in their defeat of Thanos, we can expect these to be bent to their fullest potential as she aids the Doctor in his Multiverse adventure, but now it seems that this isn’t the only place Scarlet Witch will appear in the future.
This is good news for fans of Wanda and Elizabeth Olsen, and if Wanda is about to continue in the MCU‘s upcoming events, then we must also remember that somewhere out there, the new Vision was created as a result of events in WandaVisionthe finale. Could there be a reunion of the two somewhere? Would there even be a way to bring the rest of Wanda’s “family” back into the world? The walls of the multiverse are thinning and anything is possible, so we shouldn’t rule out anything too soon.
Marvel has any number of storylines they could develop from Wanda’s many comic book appearances, but let’s not forget that Kevin Feige never wanted to be predictable and we could see Wanda appear in a number of future movies or series’. Based on the specific premise and purpose of: WandaVision, it now seems unlikely that we’ll see the series continue in that particular vein, but there are many more roads to travel, and while they’re all currently leading to Doctor Strange for Wanda, there’s no way to tell where they’re headed. go from there.
