Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie celebrated her 46th birthday today, with fans and colleagues on Twitter flocking to the front to send best wishes and share their admiration for her work both on and off screen. With many anticipating her arrival in Marvel’s Eternals, it’s a good time to reflect on the outstanding portfolio of work and achievements she’s built up over the past four decades, and marvel – no pun intended – that she seems eternal – okay, maybe a little pun – beauty .
With an array of websites, colleagues and fan sites sharing their birthday wishes, it’s safe to say that Jolie is feeling love even more than usual today. Actress Jamella Jamil shared a GIF with a quote from Jolie’s Oscar speech in which she spoke about the injustice of refugee camps.
UN Women wished Jolie a happy birthday to “@refugees Special Envoy”, thanking her for “standing up for human rights and standing up for those who can’t”. IMDB asked fans which of the star’s roles was their favorite. The official Tomb Raider account pointed out that her birthday falls in the same month she first appeared as the iconic Lara Croft in Tomb Raider 20 years ago. Jolie first appeared on screen at the age of 7, when she joined her father, Jon Voight, in Looking to get out in 1982.
