Bad news has come in for Marvel fans hoping to see Emily Blunt Fantastic four. In recent years, fans doing online fantasy casting have called on Blunt to play Invisible Woman in the Fantastic four reboots alongside her husband, John Krasinski, as Mister Fantastic. After the revelation that the movie would close phase four of the MCU, new rumors emerged that the real couple and A quiet place co-stars were in talks for the project.
To help promote A quiet place part II, Emily Blunt returned to The Howard Stern Show Tuesday morning. With so much chatter about her rumored Fantastic Four casting, the conversation eventually made its way there during the interview. Stern wanted a straight answer and asked Blunt directly if there was any truth to the rumors she and her husband were looking for Fantastic four, and here’s what the actress had to say.
That’s fan casting. Nobody has received a call. Those are just people saying, ‘Wouldn’t that be great? ”
Stern then wondered if Blunt is “too good an actress to really take that role seriously”, after which he asked if the whole genre of superhero movies was “under” her. While Blunt has a fondness for Iron Man and was originally cast as Black Widow in the MCU, she claims that superhero movies aren’t under her, she just doesn’t like them.
“It’s not that it’s under me. I love Iron Man and when I was offered Black Widow I was obsessed with Iron Man. I wanted to work with Robert Downey Jr. – it would have been great … but do I don’t know if superhero movies are for me. They don’t fit my alley. I don’t like them. No way … It’s exhausted. We’re inundated – it’s not just all the movies, it’s the endless TV shows too It’s not to say I would never want to play one, it would just have to be something so cool and like a really cool character, and I’d be interested. ”
Reading between the lines here, Blunt doesn’t seem interested in the role of Invisible Woman. Moments after expelling the Fantastic four The actress is rumored to hint that she is still waiting for “a really cool character” to convince her to slip into the superhero genre. It seems like poor Sue Storm Blunt just isn’t that interested, but for someone who doesn’t really like superheroes, that’s not exactly a surprise.
The good news here is that Krasinski was much more open to potentially joining the MCU Fantastic four. Last year, the Jack Ryan star spoke about his possible cast as Reed Richards in the movie in an interview with ComicBook.com. Krasinski said at the time that he would be ready for the role, adding that he was flattered that so many fans want to see it happen too.
“I’d love to do it,” he said. “I think it would be great to be a part of the Marvel world anyway, and the fact that people would even consider me for that level of a role would be great. happens to it.I’m waiting for that [Kevin Feige’s] announcements of what the hell is happening to it, just like you. “
Hopefully we’ll all know who’s going to be cast soon enough Fantastic four so the speculation can finally end. Meanwhile, Blunt can be seen in A quiet place part II, which will be released in theaters on May 28. The film will also be streamed on Paramount + 45 days after its premiere.
