Jeffrey Dean Morgan still wants a chance to play Batman on the big screen. The living Dead actor revealed the news in a recent interview, where he also stated that time is running out to take on the role. Morgan publicly announced his desire to play the Dark Knight after it was revealed that Ben Affleck finished the role in 2017. Then rumors started to circulate about a possible Flashpoint storyline in The flash movie, there were more than a few DC fans who expected the casting to take place, especially since the actor played Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
That has now been officially announced The flash film will feature Flashpoint’s storyline and that both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will play Batman in the highly anticipated project. Fans hoping to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Thomas Wayne pick up the Dark Knight robe were disappointed, though the Michael Keaton news in hindsight seems to have softened that blow. Morgan still hopes to play Batman on the big screen. He had this to say in a recent interview.
“At the top of my list was always Batman, that’s always been my favorite superhero. And talking about Flashpoint was a lot of fun, I get asked a lot about it. I love Flashpoint Batman’s story. Who knows? Who knows about DC? Who knows? how these franchises work? I suppose I probably have another two or three year window, and then I’m getting too old. “
As Jeffrey Dean Morgan mentioned above, everything is currently possible with DC and Warner Bros. and their take on the Batman character. The flash film could very well provide a window for Morgan to take on the role, although that’s clearly not confirmed at this point. “So look, I’m available. Everyone knows I’m available. I say I’m available, I’ve been saying it for five years,” Morgan said. ‘We’ll see what happens. There are so many superheroes. ‘
Jeffrey Dean Morgan would also play DC’s favorite antihero Lobo in recent years. When asked if that role became reality, the actor had to think twice before answering. “I might be cooking something, and I’ll let you know if it turns out to be,” Morgan said. Several DC fans have expressed their enthusiasm for Morgan playing Lobo, although it seems the majority would prefer his take on Thomas Wayne to take over from Batman.
Justice League and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder recently revealed that while he thought Jeffrey Dean Morgan was the perfect choice to play Thomas Wayne, he probably wasn’t in the running to play Batman in The flash movie. Ezra Miller is currently filming the highly anticipated movie in England, where reported shots of Wayne Manor from Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman movie leaked online.
