Elon Musk hosted Saturday Night Live last night and millions of people around the world tuned in to see what he would do. With the dust settled, a particular sketch has clearly made it to the top of social media trends, thanks to Musk’s portrayal of the Super Mario Bros. franchise villain Wario. There are still a lot of people talking about dogecoin which is falling sharply during SNL, but Nintendo fans apparently enjoyed seeing Wario tried for Mario’s murder.
Elon Musk is no stranger to gaming, so it wasn’t a complete shock to see Saturday Night Livebuilt in some video games last night. However, not many expected Musk to face trial as Wario for the murder of Mario in an intense Super Mario Kart incident. Mario’s brother, Luigi (played by SNL cast member Kyle Mooney), testified against Musk’s Wario, claiming it was a banana peel thrown by the villain who killed his plumber brother.
The SNL skit goes to great lengths to show just how awful Nintendo villain Wario really is, and mentions that he has no real friends except Waluigi, the weird and evil Luigi, who was played by Kate McKinnon. Things start to get weirder when Wario claims Mario abused mushrooms, while Musk’s wife Grimes shows up as Princess Peach, who is apparently having an affair with Mario’s brother Luigi. For the most part, fans of the sketch comedy show, Musk and Nintendo, really enjoyed the sketch, and many called it the best of the night, and one person claimed it was the funniest they’ve ever seen. Another said, “Never in a million years did I think this would happen. Never. Wario on SNL. “
Nintendo fans who weren’t aware of last night’s episode of SNL woke up wondering why the classic Super Mario Bros. was popular. And while many people are happy to see the villain get some attention, more than a few are quite disappointed with Elon Musk’s portrayal, and some call it disrespectful. Anyway, SNL can’t please everyone all the time, and Musk is quite a polarizing figure right now. Musk later tweeted that the Wario skit was his favorite of the night.
For now, Doge Coin is on its way down as more SpaceX rockets go up. Speaking of which, Elon Musk and SpaceX earlier this week scared people around the world when they believed that Starlink satellites were actually UFOs descending to take over Earth. Fortunately, that was not the case, although there are still plenty of people who can’t wait to shake hands with a real alien in the near future. For now, we just have to sit back and watch Musk’s host SNL. You can check out Wario on trial for Mario’s murder above, thanks to the official Saturday Night Live YouTube channel.
