During a conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Angelina suggested that her divorce from Brad Pitt resulted in her being in movies again.
‘I love to direct, but I’ve had a change in my family situation that has left me unable to direct for a number of years. I had to do shorter jobs and be home more, so I went back to acting jobs. That’s really the truth. ‘

As fans may know, Angelina has directed four films in the last 10 years and starred in seven, many of which were actually voice actors!
The last project Angie directed was in 2017 – ‘First They Killed My Father’ and was released a year after her divorce from Brad.
In Those Who Wish Me Dead, Angelina portrays Hannah, a so-called smoke jumper, which is “the name for a specially trained group of firefighters who parachute in a burning wilderness,” said EW.
In the storyline, which is an adaptation of Michael Koryta’s novel, Hannah finds a traumatized preteen named Finn Little, who is being chased by a pair of murderers.
Jolie told EW about her character that she is ‘not motherly by nature’. Sometimes the principal corrected me because my behavior towards a child was different from her behavior towards a child. It took me a little bit to deal with [Finn Little] bad, but i’m here! ‘
