Spider-Man (Tom Holland) meets Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) in Sony’s “Spider-Man: Far From Home”.
Starting next year, all movies released by Sony Pictures will be streamed exclusively on Netflix after their theatrical and home entertainment releases.
The deal, announced Thursday, will include such films as “Morbius,” “Uncharted,” and “Bullet Train.”
Netflix will also be able to post movies like “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” and future Venom and other Spider-Man movies on its platform. Franchises like Jumanji and Bad Boys are also included in the deal. Netflix also has access to other titles from Sony’s movie library.
As part of this partnership, Sony is offering Netflix a first look at movies it plans to bring straight to streaming or decide to buy a streaming license later. Netflix has committed to making some of these movies over the course of the deal.
The duration of the deal and financial details have not been disclosed by the two companies.
