During a new interview for The Telegraph, Ralph Fiennes mentioned the reaction Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling “disturbing” and “vitriol!” As you may know, this comes after the writer made extensive and harmful comments about the transgender community!
The actor, who plays the film’s main villain, Voldemort, thinks Rowling’s critics may have gone a little too far.

When asked about it, the English actor told the news outlet: ‘I can’t understand all the vitriol that is aimed at her. I can understand the heat of an argument, but I find this era of accusations and the need to condemn irrationally. I find the level of hatred people express about different opinions from theirs and language towards others disturbing. ‘
As for Fiennes, “we need those voices that run the risk of being offensive” because the world needs art that can “shake the landscape, penetrate us, make us angry, excite us.” I would hate a world where the freedom of such voices is stifled. ‘
His take on this is absolutely controversial, as many other celebrities, including others involved in the Harry Potter saga, such as Daniel Radcliffe, have offered their support to the transgender community by making it clear where they stand.

And while many other household names have explained why Rowling’s comments were so damaging, she continued to argue for her misguided views.
In a blog post for The Trevor Project, Daniel Radcliffe wrote: “ Transgender women are women … Any statements to the contrary erase the identity and dignity of transgender people and go against the advice of professional health care organizations who are much more knowledgeable about this . then submit Jo or me. ‘
Another star who tried to explain was Jameela Jamil. The Good Place actress previously tweeted: “Please follow more trans people, read about their experiences in this world and know that you are contributing to their destruction, abuse and suffering by supporting those who deny their identity / existence. Please use your immense power to protect those most at risk. ‘
