Sebastian Stan compared The Falcon and the Winter Soldier to WandaVision in a new interview. The first Disney + Marvel Cinematic Universe series has just finished after taking fans on a mysterious journey. All the mystery around it WandaVision left much to the imagination, leading to wild fan theories and speculation. Some of these theories left some MCU fans feeling let down, while others were completely satisfied with the opportunities Marvel Studios took when they took a wild left turn with Wanda Maximoff and Vision’s story.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is next for Disney + and Marvel Studios, and Sebastian Stan says it won’t be comparable to WandaVision‘s attempt to step outside the box. In a new interview with Total Film, Stan says, “I think WandaVision is a really interesting, different show from Marvel, and it’s tonal in its own world. However, the upcoming MCU series won’t come out as far as the last series, although it will have its own vibe. Stan had this to say.
“I think tonally in our own world we are also in tune with what the Captain America franchise films are – The winter Soldier Civil war – and so I think we’re taking a much more thorough, recognizable approach. “
The first images of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier let MCU fans know that they were returning to familiar territory. “It’s a continuation of the story, and we’re finally getting enough time with these characters,” said Sebastian Stan. Stan’s Bucky Barnes, along with Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson, are major components in the MCU, but fans haven’t really seen them in the same way as characters like Thor and Iron Man. Stan continues, “We’ve never had the chance to really fully understand where they come from and the opportunity to discover that in the tone of the movies, having the action and now more of the character, has been a lot of fun. “
WandaVision took MCU fans on a long journey through the use of classic sitcoms in recent months. It took time for the Marvel aspects to really take hold, infuriating some longtime fans, while the slow-burning mystery intrigued others. As regards The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it looks like it will be more in tune with the classic MCU stories we’ve seen on the big screen before.
Anthony Mackie previously spoke about what’s at stake The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, noting that Sam Wilson never agreed to take on Captain America’s iconic shield when Steve Rogers passed it on to him at the end of Avengers: Endgame“Where will the shield end?” Mackie asked. And, who will be Captain America, and will that nickname come back? Will someone bear that nickname again? ‘ The interview with Sebastian Stan is in the current issue of Total Film.
