Few blockbuster filmmakers have as divided audiences as Zack SnyderFrom Man of Steel to Batman vs Superman, Snyder’s films have strongly divided audiences and critics. In a recent interview, Snyder weighed in on the divisive nature of his work and admitted that he does not pay attention to criticism because, according to him, none of the criticisms are accurate.
“To be honest, I don’t watch it that much. I mean, look, I’ve watched and analyzed a little bit – as anyone would – the kind of negative criticism of the movies, in the past. I just don’t know … I haven’t found anything in the criticism that would make me believe and / or change anything that I do. So that way it doesn’t really affect me. If I felt like there was a problem, or some sort of, something that was missing in the work and I had to look at the criticism and then re-evaluate the way I approach things, that would be a different scenario But I would be a frame of everything I’ve done, so … the criticism is just the criticism. “
The nature of the divided response to Snyder’s films has resulted in a rare event in Hollywood, where Snyder was first removed from the directorial position for 2017. Justice League halfway through filming, and brought back three years later by Warner Bros. at the urging of fans to finish it Zack Snyder’s Justice League
But while Warner Bros. now appears to be sitting in his corner, Snyder remains skeptical of their intentions. In a separate interview with VanityFair, the filmmaker revealed that the studio wanted him to release an unfinished version of the Snyder Cut, which he declined for three main reasons.
“I’m going,” here’s why [I don’t want to release an unfinished version of Justice League]Three reasons: First, you don’t have to worry about the Internet, which is probably the main reason for wanting to do this. Second, you feel committed to making things right on some level, I guess. And then three, you get a crappy version of the movie that you can point to and go, ‘See? It’s not that good anyway. So maybe I was right. ‘I was like, no chance. I’d rather the Snyder cut be a mythical unicorn forever. “
With the film due out in less than a month, audiences will finally see what all that three-year fuss has been about.
