The We Live in a Society meme related to DC was used as far back as 2008, when Christopher Nolan The dark knight opened in theaters. Social media was no longer what it is today, but some gamers began to use the phrase to point out the hypocrisy in the world, while proud of not really fitting into the world around them. The meme was usually attached to a photo of Heath Ledger’s Joker, although he never said the phrase in the movie. Two years ago, the meme started to take off again when Todd Phillips and Warner Bros. the Joker movie, which also did not include the “We Live in a Society” meme.
Some fans have come to believe that DC and Warner Bros. had to refer to the “We Live in a Society” meme and started a petition. At the time of writing, the petition had nearly 60,000 signatures. And now, Zack Snyder has finally delivered the goods, which was not lost to fans, who have already started spreading the meme far and wide, and acts as brilliant free marketing for Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and HBO Max, which it will just stream over a month .
Zack Snyder’s Justice League will premiere on March 18. It’s over 4 hours long, so fans will have quite a few fresh footage to dissect as Snyder tries to bring his original vision to the masses. Fans of the director seemingly never gave up hope that this day would come, and after 4 years they are finally justified and rewarded for their patience.
