Once an Avenger, always an Avenger. Jeremy Renner recently took a trip down memory lane when he posted a photo of the sets of Avengers: Endgame, in which the actor sits alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth is featured. Both Racer and Hemsworth wore their haircuts EndgameThe photo was captioned: “Miss these fine gentlemen @chrishemsworth @robertdowneyjr And the rest of the gang !!”
It is clear that more than two years have passed since then Endgame was made, the bond between Racer and the rest of his Avengers co-stars has not dented. Downey Jr. responded to Racer’s photo with a hug and love emoji. It was before Avengers: Endgame actors had publicly gathered last year via streaming to receive the Favorite Movie award at Kids’ Choice Awards 2020: Celebrate Together.
Rider’s journey in the MCU was not always one he fondly remembered. At first, the actor appeared only as Hawkeye for a brief cameo in the first Thor movie. Not only did the character never get his own stand-alone movie, but his first full-fledged role in 2012 The Avengers saw Hawkeye be hypnotized into becoming Loki’s evil subordinate. In an earlier interview, Renner admitted that playing this version of the character had not been very creative.
“At the end of the day, 90% of the movie, I’m not the character I signed up to play. I’m literally in it for two minutes, and then all of a sudden … I prefer the good, because if we go to the bad part, or hypnotized or whatever you want to call it, it’s some kind of job opening Not even a bad guy because he doesn’t really have a consciousness The interesting thing was being guilty of the bad things I did back then I got hypnotized. I think he’s an interesting enough character already. To really take away who that character is and make him essentially this kind of robot, and make him this minion for the evil that Loki uses. Again , I could just focus on the task. I was limited, you know what I mean? I was a terminator in a way. So yeah, fun stunts. But is there some kind of emotional content or thought process?
Fortunately, Hawkeye’s arc improved with each consecutive MCU appearance. He turned out to be a family man and a source of support for both Black Widow and Scarlet Witch, as well as a loyal friend of Captain America. Now Renner is finally getting his own stand-alone Hawkeye series about Disney +, in which the character faces some demons from his past as he trains a young protege to become the MCU’s next master archer.
Hawkeye stars Jeremy Renner Clint Barton, Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, Jolt as Pizza Dog / Lucky, Vera Farmiga as Eleanor Bishop, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Fra Fee as Kazi, Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne / Swordsman, Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez / Echo and Zahn McClarnon as William Lopez. The Disney + series has not yet received a release date.
