Willem Dafoe was reportedly spotted on the set of Spider-Man 3. In December 2020, it was reported that Dafoe and Thomas Haden Church were in talks with the studio to return, although this has never been confirmed. There are many rumors about the highly anticipated sequel, which many comic fans will be setting up the live-action Spider-Verse. In a recent interview, Tom Holland teased what fans can expect by saying, “I can say it’s the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever.”
According to sources, Willem Dafoe was seen on the Spider-Man 3 set this week. Thomas Haden Church has not been seen in the area, although people will likely keep a close eye at this point. In the previous Sony Spider Man movies, Dafoe played Green Goblin, while Church played Sandman. Jamie Foxx has confirmed that he will return as Electro in the sequel, and it has been confirmed that Alfred Molina will return as Dr. Octopus. Foxx later deleted his social media post to celebrate his casting.
Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, aka Norman Osborn, first died Sam Raimi Spider Man film, although Dafoe came back everywhere to chase James Franco’s Harry Osborn. So there will be a lot of questions about how the villain could come back Spider-Man 3, not even taking into account that the character doesn’t technically exist in the world of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. There is a lot to explain that will need to be done, but it looks like Marvel Studios and Sony have it all worked out.
With all these older villains coming out of the woodwork Spider-Man 3attention has turned to Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, who both played Peter Parker for Sony, and also returned. Rumors have been circulating for months, but nothing is almost official. When Tom Holland was recently asked about Garfield and Maguire coming back he said, “Beats me, I don’t know [if Maguire and Garfield are in the movie]. If so, they haven’t told me yet … That would be something Marvel would do. I watch the movie and say “So that was that tennis ball!” ”
Tom Holland used to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe start that fans could rely on to spoil something big. However, it seems that those days are behind the young actor, who was repeatedly warned by Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige about his loose lips. Holland could very well have learned to lie about Marvel secrets in recent years, which is likely a great relief for the studio. With all these returning actors, it would be hard not to include Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in some capacity, so we’ll just have to see what happens in the end. The Geeks Worldwide were the first to reveal that Willem Dafoe was spotted on the Spider-Man 3 set.
