After its entertaining debut in the new Marvel series WandaVision, many fans want Randall Park to direct his own Disney + series as Jimmy Woo with Darcy Lewis as his partner. Originally, Park debuted in the MCU as the character in the 2018 movie Ant-Man and the Wasp. He recently reprized the role WandaVision with Jimmy investigating a strange case of missing persons and along with Dr. Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) tries to solve the bizarre mystery.
Park’s appearance WandaVision has sparked calls on social media for Jimmy Woo to get his own series in the style of The X files with a Marvel touch. Actor and filmmaker Stephen Ford, who is in the Teen Wolf TV series, started the new movement by tweeting his idea for a new series set in the MCU, in which Jimmy Woo delves into bizarre superhero-related phenomena.
“Listen to me: a whole Disney + show about Jimmy Woo just doing weird business in the MCU. X files. Make it happen, ”Ford threw on Twitter, and it didn’t take long for the tweet to go viral. With the concept of making traction, Marvel’s Runaways writer Warren Hsu Leonard even jumped in with an offer to write the series for free if it helps get the show done.
Even better is that there is already a blueprint for these kinds of stories. Marvel Comics has already played the character in the comic book series Agents of Atlas, which follows a team of superheroes led by Jimmy Woo. Many comic readers on Twitter point this out Agents of Atlas would make for a great new series, with a fan replying, “Please, for the love of God, can we follow this quickly? I need more Jimmy Woo.”
The problem with using Agents of Atlas as a source of inspiration is that the series would feel more X-Men and less like The X files. Other fans prefer to see the Jimmy Woo series as more of a mystery series with two agents investigating strange cases, like a fan who tweets, “Agent Woo with Dr. Lewis as his partner? Draw me the F *** up.”
One fan agrees that Kat Dennings co-starred as Dr. Lewis, with the pair essentially serving as Marvel’s Mulder and Scully. The tweet reads, “With Darcy. Woo and Darcy are tasked with leading an X-Files-type division. All the low-key stuff SWORD shouldn’t waste time. Of course the suitcases can seem small, but open huge Marvel. Cans of worms! Werewolf by Night! Random weird aliens like the Popupian! Howard the Duck! “
“Only if they pair him up with her (Kat Dennings Darcy Lewis),” added another fan, including a photo of Dennings.
Another Marvel fan sees all kinds of other creative possibilities for strange characters from the comics for Woo to meet in his own hypothetical series, from Man-Thing, Frog-Man and Hellcow: Bessie the Vampire Cow to The Orb, Forbrush Man, Mojo, and MODOK
Whether it is Agents of Atlas or a X files type of show after Jimmy Woo and Darcy Lewis, it seems clear that a Jimmy Woo series was going to be a hit with Marvel fans. Time will tell if it really happens. This story comes from Stephen Ford on Twitter.
