Cassie Scerbo never lets herself be hated by the internet and she doesn’t tolerate the trolls at all! The actress gave a phone interview to ET and she told me how she handles such things in the age of the new media!
She also discussed her Boo2Bullying campaign, of course!
After all, it tries to end bullying and all forms of bigotry and discrimination through free education and she is the vice president of the organization!
Given that Cassie has been a public personality for over a decade, it makes sense that she’s had quite a bit of hate and criticism!
Not so long ago, she made headlines about her romance with Gleb Savchenko after she divorced his wife Elena Samodanova.
The two were seen in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico earlier this month, and the trolls and their hateful posts were not absent from her comment section below such posts!
“I have to say, I don’t know I get that much hate as I’ve seen other people get a lot worse. So I don’t want to play this victim, but of course bullying doesn’t discriminate. We all have some form of it. For me, I know who I am and take pride in my integrity. No one knows who you are except yourself, so that’s how you look at it, ”she told the news outlet.
She went on to explain how she deals with the online hatred, saying, “I think you make it yourself on social media – I choose to make it positive. I follow accounts that are constructive and I delete anything negative. I don’t care, I don’t even leave it behind. It goes into one ear and then the other. I know who I am, I know how I was raised, and I know the person that I am, so no one else can really influence me that way. ‘
One very wise thing she also told ET is that “what other people think of you is none of your business.”
She emphasized that it is human nature to judge and while that is pretty awful, she made it very clear that anyone has the power to have things influenced positively or negatively.
But of course not everyone has thick skin like her, so she stressed that this is the main reason why it is important to stand up for others, especially the young and those who have no voice.
